Frequently Asked Questions

  • A dry hire wedding venue provides the space only, allowing you the freedom to bring in your own suppliers and services for your wedding or event.

  • Although we are classed as a dry hire venue, we do include some furniture, a dancefloor, and a catering tent in our wedding packages, along with event planning and coordination help throughout.

  • Best@Bar’s are our only exclusive supplier at The Octagon Barn. Matt offers a great range of bar services for your wedding or event and is highly esteemed across many venues in Norfolk.

    In terms of other suppliers, we do have a recommended suppliers list of those we have been impressed with, but you are not restricted to choose from this list.

    For caterers, they must have a 5* hygiene rating, take their own waste away with them, and provide at least two members of waiting staff to serve and clear tables. Our top recommended supplier for catering is Norfolk’s Edge, who do all of this.

  • The Octagon Barn itself can seat up to 250 people on tables for banqueting, or up to 300 people theatre-style for a conference or performance.

    Our 7 licensed ceremony spaces have ranging capacities; please email us and we can send you our brochure detailing these.

  • To secure your booking, a non-refundable deposit of 30% is required along with reading and signing our Booking Contract containing our Terms and Conditions.

  • We have a range of flexible payment plans for those who want to spread their payments out longer, or pay in smaller increments. This can be discussed and organised in the initial planning meeting after securing the booking.

  • If the hirer decides to cancel, the Octagon Barn is entitled to retain the deposit(s) paid by the Hirer. Payments already made are not refundable if a cancellation is made less than 6 months or less before the event.

  • Yes! Unlike many other dry hire venues, we provide event coordinators for the duration of your event, and event planning help leading up to the event.

  • Yes, there is ample parking for up to 200+ cars on site.

  • We provide caterers with power, water and a catering tent. However, they will need to provide their own kitchen facilities on the day.

  • Unfortunately, we do not have accommodation on site, but there is the option to use our large field space (included in your exclusive hire of the venue) to place glamping tents for your guests’ use.

    Otherwise, we do have a list of amazing accommodation options nearby, and are within 15minutes from Norwich City Centre, which provides ample choice for accommodation also.

  • Yes, our venue is accessible, with ramps and an accessible restroom available. Please inform us of any specific needs in advance.

  • Airborne fireworks are not permitted on site. Sparklers are permitted, however these will need to be monitored by a member of staff to ensure it complies with Health & Safety regulation.

  • Pets are welcome for the ceremony and photographs but must be supervised at all times, and it is advised they do not stay for the entirety of the reception.
